11/11/2023 0 Comments Psst psst psst cat![]() ![]() Conclusion: not 100% a cat, but rather some sort of hybrid I can’t even begin to imagine. Why does this cat look like the Pokemon Eevee? She was so fluffy, so excited to come over, so eager to wrap herself around my legs, but yet … so strange in her non-cat peeping noises, so random in trying to actually, legitimately bite me, and so odd in using car tyres to sharpen her claws. I’m sure the neighbours would be less than thrilled to learn of her escapades. Indeed, I witnessed to her trying to get underneath the table tarp, after having used the soil as her own personal toilet. Perhaps her look is more of determination, rather than menacing intent, as if to say, “I am 100% intent and committed to having this random lady pet me.” She was quite silky, if somewhat thin.Ĭat two would appear to have been caught in the act. But nonetheless, here are some cats.Ĭat one looks hella mad, but I can confirm that she was not. Hence, cats are in short demand at the moment. And if it’s not a nice day, I generally take the bus all the way home, and skip the walk altogether because there’s nothing I hate more than walking in the rain for no good reason. If it is a nice day, I will generally end up walking half way home, along one of two routes (which are the shortest routes because I’m already walking 45 minutes and I don’t really fancy detouring to find cats, as awesome as they are). I will admit that my walks are much more limited now, having gone back to work in an actual building. Also, it really only won out because there is a somewhat decent amount of content enough that I felt could warrant putting something together. Could you tell? Did the lack of new blog posts give it away? So I’ve come back to a tried and true topic that I know you all love: cats. People also began using the cats in conjunction with more cursed emoji memes (example below, right).I’ve been struggling to find something to blog about lately. On August 15th, 2019, Twitter user tweeted a Screen Reaching Emoji with the caption, "Me when I pspspspsps at a cat and it runs away." The tweet received more than 361,000 likes and 97,000 retweets in less than six months (shown below).įollowing the post, jokes about getting a cat's attention by using the phrase began to appear in greater usage on Reddit and Twitter (example below, center). Within one year, the post received more than 135,000 views (shown below, right). The following year, YouTuber Jeremy on easy shared a video entitled "pispispispispispispis," in which a man makes the noise to a cat. ![]() For example, on October 18th, 2018, in a since-deleted post, Twitter user posted the phrase in a tweet that received more than 71,000 like and 34,000 retweets in less than two years (shown below, left). References to the sound continued to appear online over the next decade. The post received more than 1,700 points (95% upvoted) and 160 comments in less than a decade (shown below). ![]() The earliest available example of the phrase in a meme was published in a Rage Comic on the /r/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu subreddit on March 17th, 2012. The origin of the phrase "pspsps" is unknown, and usage of the phrase likely existed prior to its appearance online. ![]()
